Child Therapy
Child therapy provides a supportive space for children to explore their thoughts, feelings and behaviors at their own pace. Using play as the primary mode of communication, therapists tailor techniques to suit each child’s developmental needs. Through expressive arts, sand-tray therapy, and parent-child activities, children build coping skills, process experiences, and foster emotional healing. The trusting relationship between therapist and child encourages growth, while family collaboration ensures well-rounded support and lasting growth.
Reasons children may attend play-based therapy:
Emotional concerns - including anxiety, stress, or depression
Behavioral concerns - such as aggression, regulation challenges, defiance
Social challenges - difficulty communicating effectively, bullying, challenges making friends
Trauma or loss – processing grief, abuse or other events that caused distress
Family transitions – including processing and adjusting to separation or divorce, a new sibling, blended family dynamics
Developmental delays – supporting children with additional needs and neurodivergence
Self-esteem – creating a positive self-image and work on building resilience
