Registered Provisional Psychologist

Calen is a Master of Counselling graduate from the City University of Seattle and has been a practicing Registered Provisional Psychologist since July 2023. His interest in the reciprocal nature of mind, body and emotion was born out of involvement within competitive hockey which consolidates a wide range of meaningful and challenging experiences. His perception is that impactful counselling, therapy, and coaching involves working with both the mind and the emotional experiences accumulated in the body.

Calen’s aim is to provide an accepting, supportive and encouraging environment where reconditioning the mind and strengthening confidence is possible. He believes the quality of our lives is largely dependent on the quality of our relationships. Within honest confrontation of our patterns lies opportunity for lasting growth and personal agency.

Calen’s focus is to find solutions in working with anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. He is currently collaborating with other professionals specializing in the realm of sport and performance. He also has experience working with couples. Calen utilizes a variety of methods including but not limited to ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) and Flash. He is keenly interested in revealing root cause influences on behavioral and performance outcomes and how this may effect healthier functioning and success.

As a registered member of the College of Alberta Psychologists, Calen is approved for coverage with all Canadian insurance plans.

Registered Provisional Psychologist

Lisa holds a Master of Counselling degree from City University of Seattle and is a practicing Registered Provisional Psychologist. Through her diverse experience in the counselling and support field, Lisa has refined her skills as a counsellor with a variety of clients to include young people, teens and adults struggling with internalized anxiety, school avoidance, life transitions, stress management, relationships, and parenting.

Lisa encourages and promotes a warm, safe, and inviting environment free from judgement where her clients can focus on their therapeutic journey.  Lisa aims to understand how things came to be for her clients and most importantly, what changes you feel would improve your future outcomes.  Using a brain-based understanding, she seeks to help clients realize their thinking process and how they experience and manage emotions in support of the healing process.

Lisa is up to date with current counseling approaches and utilizes multiple forms of therapeutic modality to successfully customize her therapeutic approach to each client’s specific needs. Lisa utilizes CBT (Cognitive behavioural therapy), EFT (Emotion focused therapy), and narrative therapy to support you to discover behaviour patterns that no longer work for you. She incorporates Gottman theory with couples and relationship issues and eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) to overcome perpetual concerns and issues.  For every approach, Lisa will be alongside you throughout your journey to finding your best self.

When working with teens, Lisa will first meet with parents to learn about the early years and experiences of their child, and their family dynamics in order to gain a clearer picture of what parents are noticing at home. Throughout a teens therapeutic journey, parents are encouraged to be involved with their teen in finding their best self. Lisa offers parent coaching sessions in support of parents with teens in order to refine and improve parenting skills and strategies to support their teen at home.

Lisa is a born and raised Calgarian. She lives just outside of the city on a hobby farm with her spouse and four children. During her spare time, Lisa can be found enjoying time with family, experiencing the outdoors with the many farm animals, and creating DIY projects. Lisa is booking sessions during the day and on certain evenings, she would be honored to walk alongside you while facilitating the exploration to your optimal wellbeing.
